Calgary #5 on list of world’s most livable cities


Calgary has just been listed at as the 5th most livable city in the world by the Economist Intelligence Unit’s 140 Most Livable Cities in the World.
The EIU bases their criteria on over 30 qualitative and quantitative factors across five broad categories: Stability, Healthcare, Culture and environment, Education, and Infrastructure. Vancouver for the first time, was not number 1, but rather was bumped down to third on the list behind Melbourne, Australia, and Vienna, Austria. Toronto was listed as 4th in the world, with Calgary following in 5th. The top-ranked American city was Honolulu which came 26th. Zimbabwe’s capital, Harare, was the least liveable city at 140th.
